I’m not sure if I ever mentioned it here, but I love Dell laptops! I personally think Dell computers are one of the best, quality built machines around that can really take a beating.
Right now I’m writing this article with my Dell Inspiron R laptop I got over 2 years ago. After many trips on planes with it and lugging it around in the car it’s still as good as new.
The Dell Inspiron R series is often seen as a basic type, and it is one of the most affordable laptops around. But even without the low price I would get another one, simply because it does everything I want it to do.
Of course laptops get better every year, and today’s Dell Inspirons have double the amount of functions and features than the one I have now. You can choose from several different models, from low end to high.
The very basic models start at around $400.00 and come with Popular 2nd Gen Intel® Core™ i3 configuration and maybe 300GB hard drive and 4GB memory. This is plenty for a basic work laptop if you just write a lot and crunch numbers.
The top models come with Popular 2nd Gen Intel® Core™ i7 configuration, 750GB hard drive, 6GB memory and lots more. Just about all of them come with a built in web camera.
You can find them with 14, 15 and 17 inch screens depending on the model, some with switchable lids. The high end models can go a little over $1,000.
The Dell Inspiron R series is not for hardcore gamers who need lots of high end graphics or someone who uses big video or graphics programs. For those you want something different.
But if your like me and want a sturdy, dependable and affordable work laptop where your main function is writing, working on word press and maybe doing some banner making on paintshop pro, it’s hard to beat the Dell Inspiron R laptop line!
